What is Acer CB272?

The Acer CB272 bmiprx is an affordable monitor that has all features an average user would want on his monitor. It also offers great value for money. Read this review of the Acer CB272 to find out if this monitor is the right one for you.

Acer CB272 – Image Quality

The Acer CB272 bmiprx is a 27-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Monitor. It is based on the IPS panel. It covers 98% of the sRGB color gamut and supports 8-bit color depth via dithering.

The color accuracy of the Acer CB272 is decent. IPS panels have superior color quality and viewing angles than all the other types of panels. The colors of this monitor are vibrant with a lot of detail in them.

Though I would not recommend it for color-critical work like graphic design, it is more than enough for playing games, watching movies, and working with documents.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx has a contrast level of 1000:1 and a brightness rating of 250-nits. They are the standard specs for most budget monitors. Nevertheless, the monitor is fairly bright and images look sharp.

The overall panel uniformity of this monitor is decent. The colors are consistent across the monitor without any major irregularities.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx has 178-degree wide and relaxed viewing angles. You will have no major shift in colors, brightness, and contrast levels even when you view the monitor from different angles.

It has a pixel density of 81 PPI. It should be decent enough for most tasks. You will not have any pixelated or breezy text and images as long as there is an arm’s length distance between you and the monitor.

It also has a matte anti-glare coating on it that will help diffuse any reflections that form on it.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. The IPS glow is also very minimal. You will not notice it most of the time.

Overall, there are no major complaints in terms of the overall image quality for this monitor. Images will look great on it and colors pop out. Watching movies and playing games will be a visual treat.

Acer CB272 – Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The Acer CB272 bmiprx comes in a simple design. Its black cabinet has a matte finish that helps prevent smudges and makes it easy to clean. It has thin bezels that help you minimize distractions when you use it for a multi-monitor setup.

Though Acer calls it a Zero Frame design, keep in mind that no monitor can be absolutely frameless. When companies advertise monitors as frameless, they mean thin bezels. It is misleading marketing jargon.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx uses a joystick to help you navigate the OSD menu. It is much user-friendlier than using buttons. The buttons present are used to turn on/off the monitor and apply different image presets to the monitor. They are present on the backside of the monitor towards its right-hand side.

The overall build quality is decent. The plastic used is durable and is of good quality. The stand has a circular base and is sturdy. It doesn’t wobble.

The stand is also fully ergonomic. It allows you to tilt the monitor, swivel it, adjust its height, and pivot it at 90 degrees. You can use it as a vertical monitor for programming, reading, etc. Many monitors in its price range offer a tilt-only stand. It is good to see Acer use a fully ergonomic stand for this monitor.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx is also VESA compatible. There is also a 100x100mm pattern present on this monitor that will help you to easily wall-mount it or connect it to a third-party stand.

The connectivity options of this monitor include DisplayPort 1.2 x 1, HDMI 1.4x 1, VGA x 1. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has no USB ports and no integrated speakers which are expected of monitors in this price range.

Acer CB272 – Performance

The Acer CB272 bmiprx has a refresh rate of 75Hz. You will see a small but noticeable improvement in the smoothness during gaming when you switch over from a 60Hz monitor.

It also has a 1ms response time. Its input lag is around 9ms and is completely imperceptible. It is surprising to see a 1ms response time in the Acer CB272 which is a budget monitor. It is usually a feature reserved for high-end gaming monitors.

You will have almost no ghosting and trailing during gameplay. The motion blur is also imperceptible.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx also supports the FreeSync variable refresh rate technology. It helps you have an immersive gaming experience by eliminating any kind of screen-tearing, stuttering, and lagging.

The Nvidia graphics cards (10-series and above) also work without any issues.

It is also a great choice for console gaming. Its decent image quality and low response time will make console gaming much better.

The Acer CB272 bmiprx is pretty good for everything except competitive gaming. I suggest you choose a monitor with a higher refresh rate for it. Except for that, you’ll have a blast while gaming.

Acer CB272 – Additional Features

You can work or game on it for long hours without worrying about eye strain or headaches. It has a blue light filter and it is also flicker-free.

The black boost feature helps gamers by increasing enemy visibility in darker areas of a game.

Other features include different image presets you can use to enhance your viewing experience depending on the content you view like movies, text, gaming, etc.

You can also adjust separately the brightness, contrast, color temperature, gamma, etc. using the OSD menu.
