The Dell P2418D is a 24-inch 2560×1440 (QHD) Monitor. It is based on the IPS panel. It covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut and supports true 8-bit color depth.
The 1440p resolution offers you better image quality and a higher screen real-estate than the 1080p resolution. The images appear more detailed and you will also have extra room to work with different applications side by side without always having to switch between windows.
The color accuracy of this monitor is excellent. Dell never disappoints in terms of visual quality and the Dell P2418D is no different. You get stunning visuals with amazing colors. The images are vibrant and the colors pop out and make watching movies or playing games on it a visual treat.
There are only a handful of 1440p monitors that come in a 24-inch screen. This results in a high pixel density. With the Dell P2418D, you have a massive pixel density of 123PPI. Pixel density between 90 and 100PPI is considered optimal. Anything higher will make pictures look full of detail and text looks a lot sharper. It is also easy on the eyes.
The IPS panel monitors are popular for their color accuracy and wide viewing angles. You also won’t have any washed-out colors like in TN panels when you view this monitor from different angles. You get 178-degree wide viewing angles.
The Dell P2418D has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness level of 300-nits. It is fairly bright. You won’t have any problems with it even in a well-lit room. Its contrast ratio is decent. Though you won’t get deep blacks and bright whites like in VA panel monitors, it is enough to result in sharp-looking images whose colors stand out.
The panel uniformity of this monitor is fair. There were not many ups and downs in the brightness levels.
The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. There was a slight amount of IPS glow present towards its corners. It is only visible when in dark parts of a movie or game and is pretty common for all IPS monitors. It is definitely tolerable.
The Dell P2418D also has a matte anti-glare coating on it that will prevent any reflections from forming on it.
Overall, The Dell P2418D has an impressive image quality. You also won’t have to calibrate the colors as they are very good out of the box. You can also use it for entry-level graphic design. You will definitely be satisfied with the image quality of this monitor.
