The sRGB color gamut is a great choice for average most users. Unless you’re a professional working on color-critical images, it should be more than enough to produce decent visuals.

The HP VH240a has a brightness level of 250-nits and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. They are the standard specs for most budget IPS monitors. The overall brightness of this monitor is fair. It is neither too high nor too dim and should be enough for you unless you use this monitor in very bright conditions. The contrast levels are decent enough to make colors pop out.
The overall panel uniformity is decent. The grey uniformity is good but black uniformity could be better. The colors are consistent nonetheless without too many ups and downs.
The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. The was a slight amount of IPS glow observable towards the edges. This is present is all IPS monitors. It is definitely tolerable and is only visible during dark areas of a game or movie
The HP VH240a has a matte anti-glare coating that will handle the reflections effectively.
The overall image quality of the HP VH240a is impressive. It doesn’t have any major complaints and its users will be satisfied with vivid colors and beautiful images that form on it.
