What is LG 32UD60-B?

The LG 32UD60-B is a budget 4K monitor that has all the features an everyday user would want on his monitor. Read this review of The LG 32UD60-B to know more about it.

LG 32UD60-B – Image Quality

The LG 32UD60-B is a 32-inch QHD (3840×2160) Monitor. It is based on the VA panel. It covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and covers 10-bit color depth via dithering (8-bit + FRC)

The 95% DCI-P3 color gamut can provide HDR-level of color quality. The image quality is better than the standard sRGB color gamut even though the monitor doesn’t support HDR. The overall color accuracy of this monitor is more than satisfactory. Its images look true to life and the colors pop out. Watching images and playing games on it will be a visual treat.

The 4K resolution makes pictures look more detailed and gives you a lot of screen real estate. You can comfortably use more applications side-by-side without having to always switch between tabs.

The VA panels are famous for their high contrast ratios. The LG 32UD60-B has a contrast ratio of 3000:1. The images will have more depth to them. The colors appear more distinctive and stand out from each other.

The blacks appear darker and whites appear brighter. It has a brightness level of 300-nits. It is fairly bright and I would recommend not using the maximum brightness all the time to avoid eye strain.

The panel uniformity of this monitor is decent. There were no major inconsistencies in both grey and black uniformities.

It has a massive pixel density of 139PPI. The pixel density of 95 to 100 is considered very good. With 139PPI, you get sharp-looking images and text. It is also easy on the eyes as there won’t be any blurry text or pixelated images.

The LG 32UD60-B has decent viewing angles. They are neither as narrow as TN panels nor as wide as IPS panels. There won’t be any shift in colors, brightness, and contrast levels as long as you don’t view this monitor from extreme angles.

The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. There was little bleeding towards the edges which are only visible in dark areas of a game or a movie. It is tolerable and you can control it by reducing the brightness.

It has a matte-anti glare coating that will help prevent any reflections from forming on it.

Overall, the image quality of the LG 32UD60-B is very good. It has no major drawbacks to it in terms of color accuracy. Though I wouldn’t recommend it for professional color-critical work like graphic design, it is more than enough for watching movies, playing games, and everything else.

LG 32UD60-B – Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The LG 32UD60-B comes in a simple yet elegant design. Its cabinet has a matte finish. The panels are thin making it suitable for a multi-monitor setup. If you prefer the minimalistic design, you will surely love the design of this monitor.

This monitor uses a joystick for OSD menu navigation. It is a far better option than buttons and is totally user-friendly.

The overall build quality is decent. The plastic used is of good quality and it feels durable. The stand comes in the ArcLine design. It is sturdy and doesn’t wobble.

The ergonomics of the stand is limited to tilt and height adjustment. You cannot swivel it or rotate it. There is a 100x100mm VESA mount present using which you can wall mount it or connect it to a third-party stand.

The connectivity options of the LG 32UD60-B are DisplayPort 1.2 x 1, HDMI 2.0 x 1. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack. It would have been nice to see USB 3.0 ports included but it is fine for the price.

This monitor has 2 x 5W built-in speakers. They are not too loud but are enough for small spaces and closed rooms. I would still recommend using external speakers for a better audio experience.

Its response time is around 4ms and its input lag is around 10ms. The input lag is imperceptible and is great for gaming.

There were also no major issues of motion blur and ghosting. You also won’t have any flickering during gaming.

It also supports the FreeSync Variable Refresh Rate technology. You will not have any stuttering, screen tearing, and lagging in video games as long as your FPS is between 48 and 60. You can also use it with 10-series and later Nvidia graphics cards without any issues.
