The ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD is a 31.5-inch 4K (3840×2160) Monitor. It is based on the MVA panel. The MVA panel is a type of VA panel without too many significant differences. It covers the standard sRGB color gamut and supports true 8-bit color depth.
The 4K resolution offers a bit better image quality and more screen real estate than the other resolutions. Images will appear more detailed. You can also work on various applications side by side and multi-task effectively without worrying about having to run out of space.
The image quality of this monitor is decent. The VA panels have decent color accuracy. You won’t have any washed-out images as you see in TN panel monitors. Except for color-critical work like graphic design, you can use this monitor for pretty much anything.
The VA panels have superior contrast levels than all the other panels. The ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD has a high contrast ratio of 2500:1. It results in lifelike images that tend to have a certain depth to them. The blacks are deeper and the whites are brighter. The colors stand out from one another and you will have stunning visuals.
It has a brightness level of 300-nits. The monitor is fairly bright. You will have no issues using it even in a well-lit room. I would suggest you tone it down a bit to avoid any eye strain.
The ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD supports HDR 10 which is an entry-level HDR. It is mostly hit or miss. A few movies looked wonderful but most of them ended up with oversaturated pictures. You will be disappointed if you expect too much from this monitor in terms of HDR. A wider color gamut and a better brightness could have made the HDR performance of this monitor much better.
You get 178-degree wide viewing angles with this monitor. They are not as relaxed as those you find in IPS monitors but still, you will have no major issues of change in colors, brightness, and contrast levels when you view this monitor from various angles.
The ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD has a massive pixel density of 140PPI. Pixel density between the range 90 to 100PPI is considered very good. Thanks to the combination of the 31.5-inch screen and 4K resolution, you get a much better pixel density.
You will have no blurry text or pixelated images. text appears sharp and images are detailed. It is also easy on the eyes as you won’t have to squint them to see clearly.
The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. There was a little bit of backlight bleeding present towards the edges. It is tolerable only visible in dark areas of a game or a movie. Another advantage of the VA panel is that you have any Glow as you see in IPS monitors.
The ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD has a matte anti-glare coating on it. It does a good job of handling reflections in normal room lighting.
The overall image quality of the ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD is satisfactory. The only major complaint it had was its lackluster HDR performance. Except that, the colors and images looked amazing on it. Most average users will definitely be satisfied with its stunning visual quality.
